Because it wouldn’t add anything to her career

Megan Fox, although a household name, has yet to prove herself as an actress, it has often been said – and with good reason, critics agree. With only the two “Transformers” films under her belt as of now and a couple of smaller roles, being offered the chance to star in the next Bond installment would have been a dream come true. Not quite so, because she turned the offer down, The Frisky reports.

It is not yet known when Fox was offered the part opposite Daniel Craig, but the actress clearly wants nothing to do with it, the aforementioned e-zine says. According to her, being cast as a Bond beauty would do nothing to her career, probably in the sense of helping her break away from the screen-siren image that is now being promoted in the media of her. Still, as fans must surely know, being a Bond girl is actually a much coveted part in Tinseltown.

“In a shockingly bad career move (in our humble opinion, at least), Megan Fox has announced she’s turned down an offer to star opposite Daniel Craig in the next Bond film. Really!? The chance to join the prestigious list of female A-listers with the looks and brains to challenge and roll with Bond? (We’ll have to exclude Denise Richards from that list though.) Apparently, she’s just not impressed by the notion and feels the role wouldn’t really add anything to her career. Huh.” The Frisky writes in a post clearly disapproving of Fox’s choice.

As a matter of fact, this is not the only media outlet to call out Fox for making bad choices in terms of her career. Fans too seem to agree – and are very vocal about it on dedicated forums – that, for someone who is just at the beginning of her career, she does seem a bit too picky, especially in the context in which her performance in “Transformers” is not really what one might call “Oscar-worthy.” Parallels with Lindsay Lohan, another actress who single-handedly ruined her career with awful choices of this type, do spring to mind.

“To her credit, we get that she might want to break out of the femme fatale typecasting. Sure. On the other hand, she’s done nothing to demonstrate that she actually has the acting chops she’s always moaning about. So there’s that.” The Frisky concludes by saying. As fans must remember, Megan Fox is also said to have turned down the part of Wonder Woman, labeling the super heroine as “lame.”
