After releasing last week the first trailer for its Max Payne 3 title, Rockstar has now posted a new version of the video, with pop ups that reveal some new information about the game, the protagonist, Max Payne, and its main location, Sao Paolo, Brazil.

Rockstar's trailers are always filled with interesting information, and that's why many long time fans started dissecting every frame from the recently released Max Payne 3 video, which appeared last week and made quite a lot of gamers excited about the next big Rockstar project.

Now, the popular publisher has come up with a Pop Up Edition of the trailer, which adds small blurbs of text during the action to elaborate on what's actually going on in the footage, much like music channels did back in the late 1990s or early 2000s with videos.

"Today, we revisit the trailer - this time with some additional exclusive new intel direct from the inside," Rockstar revealed. "The Max Payne 3 First Trailer: Pop Up Edition highlights many of the things you glimpsed in the video, now illuminated by some new details being revealed for the first time."

"Including first information on game characters like Raul Passos, the Comando Sombra gang, and early details on Max Payne 3's weapons, melee, cover, physics, the long-awaited return of Bullet Time and more."

Through the pop ups, we learn that the original Max Payne voice actor, James McCaffrey returns in the new title. Max is now forced to flee New York, and is offered a job as a security contractor in Sao Paolo, one of the biggest and most dangerous cities in Brazil.

Rockstar also highlights that the game, a collaboration between all of its worldwide studios, still retains the Noir theme, with Max being a troubled character faced with a grim world.

Melee combat plays a key role in the new game, as it's not safe to stay in cover for too long. The trademark Bullet time mechanic is back which, when combined with the new physics engine, results in some properly cinematic action.
