No alien sex for Singapore gamers

Will Mass Effect be the new Manhunt 2? It's already following in its footsteps, being a highly anticipated title that gets leaked on the Internet and then gets banned. However, the ban is not as serious as it was in the case of Manhunt, because it only applies to Singapore and its gamers. The decision was taken due to the inclusion in the game of a lesbian sex scene, which seemed to bother the local authorities.

Singapore's Media Development Authority (some sort of ESRB or BBFC) apparently wasn't too keen on that scene which featured a human woman and an alien female making out. MDA's decision was soon followed by the gaming community's reaction, as its members deemed the ruling as a very strict action. You might be interested to find out that Singapore officials and its laws cherish traditional values and ban sensual and sexual interactions between people of the same sex and their representations in media products.

The Asian country is the only one banning Mass Effect for now, but the local authorities have been involved in other such decisions regarding God of War 2 (because of nudity) and The Darkness (excessive violence and religious offense). In case you've been living in a cave tied up to a Halo 3 perfusion for the past months, we provide you the controversial "lesbian sex scene" below. Be advised that the content may be considered mature so kids should stay away for now. Well, technically it's not lesbian sex, because you can't label a sensual interaction between a human being and an alien lifeform as homosexual, because ... we haven't made alien contact yet, so there's no telling if they even have a gender.

A developer's life never gets easy, as these guys have to work day and night and explore their creative sides of the personality, restraining themselves from adding offensive content that usually triggers bans like the one mentioned above.
