The Salarian Infiltrator and Engineer are great in the multiplayer mode

Throughout Mass Effect 3’s multiplayer, you’ll unlock all sorts of races and classes, from the Drell Adept or Vanguard, to the Krogan Soldier or Sentinel, the Asari Adept or Vanguard, or the Turian Soldier and Sentinel.

Without a doubt one of the most viable characters are the two Salarian ones: the Infiltrator and the Engineer.

I unlocked them early on, thanks to a bit of luck, but opted to continue playing with my Human characters in each class.

Ever since I decided to give them a chance and see what they can do, however, they’ve become two of my favorite characters.

The biggest reason for such a decision is their unique Energy Drain power, which sucks shields and even health from your targets and adds a tiny bit of it to your own defense.

While this certainly comes in handy when your shield gets depleted, the biggest advantage is the fact that it stuns practically any non-boss character, allowing you to finish him or her off with your weapons or a melee attack.

The Salarian Engineer can also use a Decoy power, which creates a replica of yourself in whatever place you point it. This is handy when you’re swarmed with enemies, as they focus on the decoy, while you can run away to safety.

This also manages to attract more powerful opponents, like Cerberus Phantoms, Geth Hunters, or even Banshees, giving you and your squad mates time to attack them with whatever you have at your disposal.

The Salarian Infiltrator can also deploy proximity mines but, at least from my experience they’re not the best weapons, especially since I only upgraded them to level 3. Instead, I poured points into the essential Tactical Cloak and the aforementioned Energy Drain powers, not to mention the passive Salarian Operative and Fitness sections.
