Talk about confidence: with the first “Captain America: The First Avenger” movie yet to arrive in cinemas, Marvel has already ordered the script for a sequel, it has emerged.

Latino Review claims to have it on very good authority that Marvel was so pleased with fans’ reaction to the Super Bowl XLV spot for “Captain America” that it’s already got things rolling for the sequel.

It’s not uncommon for movie studios to think ahead, but to plan a sequel when the first film is yet many months away is rather unheard of.

Still, it’s happening, the aforementioned e-zine says.

“Stephen McFeely & Christopher Markus, the screenwriters who penned ‘Captain America: The First Avenger’ just got hired to write the sequel for Marvel Studios!” Latino Review writes.

Presumably, the decision had a lot to do with excellent reaction from the fans following the ad that ran during last weekend’s Super Bowl.

“Obviously the sequel is going to be present day and take place after The Avengers. Does this mean that we get to see Bucky as The Winter Soldier?” Latino review asks.

“Does this also mean we get a Captain America sequel in 2013? Who knows. I don’t have any more details at the moment except that the writers got hired so stay tuned for an official announcement,” the e-zine says.

“Captain America: The First Avenger” is scheduled for release on July 22, 2011.

Other hyped movies that ran ads during the Super Bowl, as we also reported at the time, are “Cowboys & Aliens,” “Transformers: The Dark of the Moon,” “Priest” and “Super 8,” among others.

No word yet whether any of these will also be getting a sequel based on reaction to the ads alone – in other words, fans should probably take the above report with a grain of salt.

On the same note, a script doesn’t mean the movie has already been greenlit, though that’s a given if “Captain America” does well at the box office.
