Mariah Carey’s live performances over the past 6 months haven’t exactly been her best, with the diva being publicly shamed on several occasions for horrible lip-syncing and bad live singing. However, that doesn’t mean that you can question her vocal abilities to her face.

The other day, Mimi descended on Las Vegas for an event celebrating her upcoming residency. She arrived in an old car and got the welcome a diva of her standing deserved, complete with many screaming fans and a truck convoy for her shows.

Also then, she did an interview with the AP about the residency and what fans should expect. As you can see in the video below, she explained that it would offer more stability to her twins to soon-to-be-ex Nick Cannon, and that it would also be less taxing on her, as opposed to a traditional tour.

As for whether she will be using backing tracks because of the venue (tricky move, reporter!), Mariah had the perfect answer: whoever questions her vocal ability is more than welcome to join her at her home for a little singing session in the shower. “It’s not a problem.”

Any takers?
