Mariah Carey, Nick Cannon Renew Wedding Vows in Hospital, After Birth

Mariah Carey gave birth to twins over the weekend: a healthy girl and a healthy boy whose names have yet to be made public. After giving birth, the singer and her husband of 3 years Nick Cannon renewed their wedding vows.

To make this even better, this was also the couple’s third anniversary, which prompted some speculation that Mariah scheduled her C-section to coincide with the joyous occasion so that she had triple reason to celebrate next year.

Said rumors were turned down by the singer’s rep, who said that “not even Mariah could plan that,” adding that the first-time parents were understandably “overjoyed” by the arrival of the twins.

One day after giving birth, Mariah and Nick again celebrated their love by having the wedding vows renewed right there on the hospital bed, Us Magazine reports.

“One day after the singer, 42, gave birth to twins, the couple renewed their wedding vows with a hospital ceremony conducted by Rev. Al Sharpton on Sunday,” the celebrity mag writes.

Nick, who kept his and Mariah’s fans in the loop throughout the weekend on his Twitter page, confirmed the happy news on the same channel.

“We just had a wedding in the hospital!” he tweeted. No word yet on what he bought her as an anniversary gift.

“Mariah looks great, and the babies are beautiful. I am so moved by the sincere spiritual commitment of Mariah and Nick. They have not let success separate them from God. I am so proud,” Rev. Sharpton says for the same publication.

Mariah gave birth to a girl and a boy, but neither she nor Nick has yet announced their names.

“According to Carey’s rep, the baby girl was born first, weighing 5 pounds, 3 ounces, measuring 18 inches long; her brother followed, weighing 5 pounds 6 ounces, and was 19 inches,” Us magazine says.

Since the singer took her time in coming out with her first pregnancy photospread, it wouldn’t be farfetched to imagine that she’ll release the name of the twins together with the first pics of them.
