Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon became parents to twins seven weeks ago but no one has seen the kids yet. A new report suggests that Mariah is currently in negotiations with various publications for the first photos of the twins and that she initially hoped she’d get $14 million for them.

This is the amount that Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt reportedly got for photos of the twins – and Mariah believed she could command such a hefty paycheck herself, PageSix writes.

As it happens, she will have to settle for a more meager amount, as she’s being offered $200,000 for the photos, the same e-zine writes.

A rep for the singer, though, insists that she’s not interested in money, while sources add that she just wants to make sure the shoot is handled tastefully.

“She is still deciding when and if she’s going to [do the pictures]. She is enjoying being a mom, and there’s no rush. It’s not about the money,” the rep explains.

“Mariah and Nick are more concerned with doing the right thing than going to the highest bidder. They’re talking to a number of publications about doing it in the best and most tasteful way,” says a source close to the couple.

“Nick has said on radio he doesn’t feel entirely comfortable selling pictures of his children. But the first picture remains very valuable to the paparazzi,” the tipster explains.

Another source says that the fact that she won’t raise such a high amount from the baby’s pictures doesn’t mean the media is not interested in Mariah.

When Jolie and Pitt asked and got $14 million (all of which went to charity), the market was different.

“There’s not much movement going on right now. Everyone wants them, and everyone is putting in offers. But times and budgets have changed from the Brangie baby years,” says the source.
