Quite a lot of problems

MadWorld is shaping up to be quite an interesting title. It will be an action adventure video game, exclusive to the Nintendo Wii console, which will showcase quite a lot of violence, but, in a more comical way, as its developers from Platinum Games have said.

The game will place you in the shoes of a not so normal mechanic, called Jack, who has a chainsaw for an arm. In order to showcase his "unique" talent, the player will enter a television show in which he must defeat his enemies in order to be victorious. Players will use the Wii Remote and Nunchuk to control Jack and will be treated to a monochrome experience, as the black and white colors are only disturbed by the blood of opponents, which is red.

But don't think that the development of this game was easy, because actually, it is quite hard to make a black and white game, as Platinum Games recently stated. The producer, Atsushi Inaba, said that the team wasn't quite sure about making the game black and white, because there were a lot of problems, like differentiating objects from the background, but as the pieces joined together, the excitement began to grow.

"Even with this game, there was a certain amount of trepidation on the part of the team to make it in black-and-white. But once we actually built what you've seen, we were very happy. Obviously, there aren't any other games like this, and that is central to the look of the game. As soon as we realized that we had something on our hands that was going to work, we began to be really afraid — we wanted to hurry and get this out there in front of fans so that somebody didn't come in and steal our thunder."

Inaba then went on to say that a colorized version wouldn't be made, as it was a territory for more powerful consoles, like the PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360, instead of the Wii. Let's just hope that this title will become one of the most popular games for the small white console. Look forward to a launch at the end of March, as no concrete date has been established yet.
