Handmark, the company specialized in mobile solutions for publishers and media brands, teamed with MMAjunkie.com in order to unveil a brand-new mobile news app designed for a special iPhone and BlackBerry user group, the mixed martial arts fans.

MMAjunkie.com is an independent news site, which won in 2008 and 2009 at The World Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) Awards the “Best Media Coverage” title. The site claims to be highly devoted to the popular sport of MMA, a full-contact combat sport that includes different fighting techniques. Mixed martial arts combine classical martial arts elements with other styles of fighting such as wrestling and Brazilian jiu-jitsu. Therefore, the site informs that it features the latest news and information for all martial arts fans worldwide, declaring itself as the “premier go-to source” for everyone who might be interested in this sport.

“MMA provides a never-ending news cycle, and our goal is to make it easy for fans to keep up with the latest headlines from major promotions such as the Ultimate Fighting Championship, World Extreme Cagefighting, Strikeforce, Bellator Fighting Championships and Japanese-based organizations such as DREAM and World Victory Road,” Dann Stupp, MMAjunkie.com co-founder and editor-in-chief, said. “Handmark has helped us deliver a slick, easy-to-use mobile app that gives loyal MMA fans instant access to up-to-the-minute updates right from their phones.”

The MMA Junkie Mobile app offers an instant and real time-based access to the latest information posted on MMAjunkie.com, including event updates, stories, rumors and place-bet information. The site guarantees that the amount of information, posted online is being refreshed automatically.

“People are increasingly relying on their phones as a primary source for information while they’re on the go, including the latest news about their favorite sports,” Evan Conway, EVP of Marketing at Handmark, commented. “We’re excited to work with MMAjunkie.com to deliver on that demand, providing their mobile fans with a fantastic experience for accessing their trusted MMA news and information on the go,” he added.

In view of this partnership, Handmark has contributed its developed Mobile Publishing Platform (MPP), a software feature that allows the iPhone user to visualize the content of newspapers, magazines and, of course MMAjunkie.com’s hot news. Download MMA Junkie Mobile (FREE)
