14 DAY TRIAL // Lindsay Lohan is looking to Kim Kardashian for inspiration in terms of new ways of boosting her profile on social media. The other day, right before flying to France for Paris Fashion Week, where she met up with the Kardashian matriarch Kris Jenner, she tried her hand at breaking the Internet.
Needless to point out, the Internet remains unbroken. But Lindsay turned herself into the butt of all jokes again, for not knowing when to stop with being a try-hard.
#BreakTheInternet with clothes on is not possible, obviously
You can see Lindsay’s declaration of war to the Internet (seriously, why do celebrities insist on breaking it? and more importantly, if they succeed, how else do they think they can get their daily fix of attention?) in the tweet below.
Her intention was cute at best, in the sense that she tried to get a photo of her with clothes on to go viral. It didn’t: as of the time of writing, the photo has 2,359 retweets and has been favorited 7,266 times. You don’t break the Internet with these figures.
The phrase “break the Internet” became a thing with Kim Kardashian’s Paper magazine cover and spread, released last November. When the cover was posted on Twitter, it came with the tagline #BreakTheInternet, which soon went viral.
It’s true, Kim wasn’t wearing that many items of clothing in the photo, which explains why Lindsay didn’t even stand a chance in achieving her goal. Nonetheless, as you can see in the GIF below, Kim didn’t manage to actually break the Internet either: sure, everyone talked about the photo, but it didn’t get as many shares as she probably expected.
Lindsay Lohan hits Paris Fashion Week
Much like Kim before her, LiLo too is being mocked online, on social media and celebrity blogs, for her latest attempt at making herself newsworthy. Some are even calling it her lowest moment ever, which is a lot to say of a woman who stole necklaces from high-end stores, rear-ended trailers in a speeding Mercedes, and got the police on a wild car chase because she had her pockets full of cocaine and then tried to blame it all on her assistant.
Failure to break the Internet aside, Lindsay has put her “work commitments” in London second for a few days and has hit Paris Fashion Week. In the Instagram photo below, she’s posing up a storm with Kris Jenner and the Kardashians’ makeup artist. Kris is in Paris with Kim and Kanye, and has been accompanying them to all shows so far.
Somehow, she found the time to hang out with Lindsay, so you shouldn’t be too surprised tomorrow, when you read in the glossies or on your favorite celebrity blog that she’s thinking of becoming her manager.
In fact, this would probably be Lindsay’s only remaining option at making that comeback she’s been struggling to make happen for years now.
