Troubled star believes she's a “Hollywood player” still, will eventually get an Oscar

Lindsay Lohan hasn't made a decent selling movie OK-ed by critics in years, but that's not to say that she's wasted her chances of winning an Oscar yet. In fact, says a new report, she believes she's still in the running.

The legally troubled actress who, earlier this year, was saying all she wanted was to get back on set but who's now making money by posing for Playboy, still thinks she could land an Academy Award if only movie people would offer her the right part.

She must be the most delusional woman in showbiz right now, says an insider in the latest print issue of the National Enquirer (story via here).

Lindsay refuses to accept the fact that no one in the industry wants to work with her anymore, after she's proved time and time again how irresponsible and immature she can be.

Moreover, she's somehow convinced that, in the next couple of years, she'll be up on the stage at the Academy Awards, saying her thank-you speech.

“Lindsay is clearly living on a different planet. Her life is in tatters and no one in Hollywood will even take her calls,” says the insider.

“But she still sees herself as a player, and she’s telling friends that her career is going better than ever. She’s even talking about finding a role that will make her dream of winning an Oscar come true!” adds the spy.

She even tried to crash a premiere party for “J. Edgar,” Clint Eastwood's latest film, in the hope she might get to speak with the director or his latest star, Leonardo DiCaprio.

Obviously, she got denied at the door.

“Their team held Lindsay at bay, but everyone at the party was horrified at her behavior. At this point, the best gig she can get is a nude pictorial for Playboy – and she almost blew that!” the spy says.

What Lindsay needs to do is accept that her career will never be what it was some years ago – and try to work from the ground up again by gaining the confidence of the people she wants to work with.

“But even with her numerous legal problems, her dwindling finances and her family issues, Lindsay is still telling friends that her best career days are ahead of her. She just isn’t living in reality,” the spy says.
