Star is still in police custody now after punching woman

Just as she was about to get her life back on track (or so she said), Lindsay Lohan has landed herself in very troubled waters again: she’s just been arrested for punching a female patron at a club in New York City.

Both TMZ and Gossip Cop have confirmed the arrest, which occurred just a few hours ago.

Lindsay is still in police custody as we speak.

According to both media outlets, Lindsay got into some sort of argument with a female patron and it eventually turned physical, with the star punching her.

“Our sources say Lohan was at Club Avenue when she got into some sort of argument with a female patron and it became physical. We're told cops came and arrested Lindsay for allegedly assaulting her,” TMZ writes.

Admittedly, Lindsay did not start the fight, but she did respond violently to verbal provocation.

“Law enforcement tells us prior to the fight words were exchanged between Lindsay and the woman as they sat in separate booths near each other. Lindsay said something to the effect of, ‘Give me my space.’ Some time passed and then, for some reason, Lindsay allegedly punched the girl,” the same media outlet reports.

The arrest and the fact that she’s about to be charged for lying to police officers in relation to her most recent car crash (when she crashed into an 18-wheeler and claimed she wasn’t driving though she was) could mean she will have her parole revoked.

The irony is that, while promoting her “comeback” movie “Liz & Dick,” a made for TV Lifetime biopic, Lohan has been insisting that she rarely did anything wrong, being mostly a victim of her circumstances, bad luck and a bad circle of friends.

She’s also been saying she’s changed and has turned her life around.

The recent arrest seems to indicate that not much about Lindsay Lohan has changed – assuming, of course, she was responsible for the melee.
