14 DAY TRIAL // Rapper Lil Kim is getting ready to become a mommy for the first time: after announcing her pregnancy (in style!) in February, the 39-year-old star stepped out over the weekend for a “royal” baby shower in New York.
The diva kept the pregnancy a secret for a very long time, timing the “announcement” with the debut of the New York Fashion Week, when she attended an event in a body-hugging dress that obviously clung to her already visible baby bump.
She confirmed she was pregnant by posing for the cameras in a way that left no room for doubt but, at the time, she would not reveal the name of the baby’s father. He came out of the woodwork shortly after, on social media.
Mr. Papers was first linked to Lil Kim in June 2012 and he went on Twitter to announce that he was the father of her unborn baby. Kim remained uncharacteristically tight-lipped about it, even after more reports suggested other men as possible father candidates.
She and Mr. Papers walked the pink and blue carpet together at the baby shower. “Can't wait for my NYC Royal Baby Shower this weekend thrown by the one & only @davidtutera! #royalbabyshower #queenbeelilbee #DavidTutera,” she tweeted ahead of the bash.
David Tutera is a celebrity wedding planner but, in cases like Lil Kim’s, he seems not averse to doing baby showers as well. He’s seen in the photo above in the pink shirt and blue coat, in tone with the whole evening: clearly, the rapper has gone to great lengths not to reveal whether she’s having a boy or a girl.
Mr. Papers is the other man in the pic.
The Daily Mail informs that guests were welcomed by trumpeters on the carpet, who announced their arrivals as they would in times long gone by, with members of the royalty.
Meanwhile, Lil Kim “dressed up for the celebration in a nude-colored gown featuring pretty white lace detail and capped sleeves, which fit snuggly down to just past her hips, before flowing out at the bottom.”
The rapper accessorized with plenty of bling, including oversized earrings, rings, and a statement bracelet. Meanwhile, the baby daddy Mr. Papers looked casual in jeans and a white shirt, with a white vest on top and black and white sneakers.
One moment that stood out from the red pink and blue carpet ceremony was when Lil Kim and Mr. Papers posed for a couple photo, and they kissed using only their tongues.
