Over the past couple of days, Lenovo's dual-screen portable workstation, the ThinkPad W700ds, has made the headlines, indicating that the system maker is planning to unveil the product in the near future. Coming to join all the recent details that have been leaked on the Internet, a recent video on YouTube provides the very first clues as to how the dual-screen feature will work on the new Lenovo ThinkPad.

The first details of the W700ds surfaced late last week, after which several others have also been made available, ranging from product pictures to technical specifications and pricing. It didn't take long for the very first video of the said portable workstation to work its way into the vast source of information that the Internet is.

As it has been reported by a recent article on slashgear, the W700ds appears in a broadcast on YouTube, where a lady slides out the secondary screen directly from the side of the primary 17-inch display.

The ThinkPad W700ds is built on Lenovo's mobile workstation, the ThinkPad W700. Basically, this means that the upcoming dual-screen ThinkPad is going to come as a monster of rig. The rig is by any standards huge, but has the right reasons for that, as it packs some of the highest-performance technical specifications on the market.

It is expected that the W700ds will provide its customers with a choice of an Intel Core 2 Quad processor, up to 8GB of RAM, and NVIDIA Quadro FX 3700M GPU, and either traditional HDD or SSD RAID arrays.

The rig is expected to sell for around $3600, when it becomes available in early 2009. Given the estimated costs, less people are likely to be interested in the Lenovo portable workstation, despite the impressive bunch of features it provides.

Update 1: It looks like Lenovo's ThinkPad W700ds hasn't been shy of the camera, as it has been spotted in a series of photos in a related news article on eweek. You can click for some more pictures with the aforementioned portable workstation.
