Canadian mobile phone maker Research In Motion has been long rumored to be on its way to deliver to the market a BlackBerry device that will boast a sliding form factor, and it seems that more details on the matter emerged now. Moreover, there are also a series of leaked photos with the alleged slider available, so that enthusiasts can make an idea on what RIM has in store for them in the area.

Two sets of photos emerged with the BlackBerry slider, both published by the guys over at BlackBerry Leaks, who speculate that it might arrive as Storm3, though others say that there are greater chances that this is actually an early version that won't land on the market at all, since it has turned into the already rumored Magnum / Dakota. However, CrackBerry says that the handset will actually arrive as part of the Bold line, yet nothing is official at the moment.

Among the other details that emerged on the device, we can count the 360 x 480 pixel resolution for the phone's touchscreen display, which won't feature SurePress, it seems, as well as the possibility that it will run under BlackBerry OS 6.0. At the same time, the phone is reportedly including a 1050mAh battery inside, which can be considered rather small for a BlackBerry device. Unfortunately, the photos do not show the handset fired up, and we can only admire it from the outside.

Other details on the BlackBerry slider lack at the moment, yet previous rumors on the matter suggested that it would also include Wi-Fi 802.11n, and that it would come with GSM/HSPA connectivity on board. Unfortunately, no info on a possible release date for the mobile phone emerged, though there are great chances that it won't be too long before more details are available. In the meantime, take a look at the leaked photos attached to this article, and head over to BlackBerry Leaks for some more images.
