Motorola DROID, Verizon Wireless' first ever Android mobile phone and the first device that was announced to come to the market with the 2.0 flavor of Google's operating system, will become available for purchase in about one week from now. There are many enthusiasts already waiting for November 6 to come so that they would be able to grab their own DROID from Verizon, but, until that will happen, they can now take a look at the handset's launch kit and user manual, which already leaked into the wild.

Both documents have emerged courtesy of a forum member over at the Android Central Forums, and those interested in the matter can head over there to learn more on the device, or can follow this link to view the DROID User Manual, or this link for the DROID Launch Kit (both PDF links). We're pretty sure that a lot of people out there were waiting for something like this to happen so that their curiosity about the Motorola DROID would have something to feed on.

The Android 2.0-powered mobile phone is shaping up to be one of the nicest handsets that came to the market during the ongoing year. The phone in itself is reportedly very well built and can offer a great user experience due to its large touchscreen display and the side-sliding QWERTY keyboard it has been packed with, and the same applies to the Android 2.0 flavor (Eclair), which arrives to the market for the first time on DROID.

At the same time, both Motorola and Verizon seem to have high hopes for the device. Motorola has been through a series of bad quarters lately, and the launch of DROID, along with the previously released CLIQ, should help it gain some of the lost ground. As for Verizon, the DROID is said to help it better compete against AT&T and its exclusivity on the iPhone. In Verizon's opinion, DROID should deliver a better experience than the iPhone, and it expects for great sales of the handset.
