The Aliens movie came out in 1986 and today Xenomorphs are one of the first things that pops into their heads when they think of extraterrestrial creatures. Just one year later, another classic movie about aliens was made, but this time it was the Predator, and the two creatures have since become powerful franchises that were, at first, joined by the video games industry and, eventually, by the movie one as well. The first Aliens versus Predator was released in 1999 and, while the game proved to be an immense hit, the series became even more popular with its sequel, Aliens versus Predator 2, in 2001.

The game series featured a very dynamic gameplay, with all the leading, title-present races available, but with a third underdog as well, the humans. Each race had its very distinct gameplay, and it's this exact difference in experience that made the game so popular. With the Xenomorphs, one would rely on speed, agility and cunning to hunt, while with the Predator, stealth, tactics and advanced technology were the key to success. The Marine was without a doubt the victim in the slaughter, and caught in the middle, the only thing he could do was to stay alert, listen to every sound and no matter what, never stop moving.

The series is about to be resurrected, and in February 2010, the developers of the original Aliens versus Predator, Rebellion, will release their Aliens vs. Predator game. The game already promises a lot, and the resurrection of the franchise is bound to have a lot of people excited. But fans of the Alien movie series will get something extra from the upcoming game experience. The developers have managed to convince actor Lance Henriksen to lend his voice and even his likeness, though one from earlier days apparently, to the video game.

"They've made me look very good," said Henriksen. "This is the first time I've been fully represented in a game, with my voice and how I look, and the Rebellion guys have done a great job. I might score from this game!" So Bishop will be part of the game, so all that's left to find out now is in how many parts we'll find it, when we do.
