14 DAY TRIAL // Only a few days ago, Lorenze Martone confirmed that he and his fiancé of two years, famed fashion designer Marc Jacobs, were no longer together. Shortly afterwards, word got out that part of the reason behind the split may have been former ’N Sync member Lance Bass, who hooked up with Martone even though he knew he was in a relationship. Not quite so, People magazine writes, citing a well-placed source.
The insider insists Bass and Martone only started dating after the latter broke up with Jacobs. Of course, they knew each other before that but, since Lance knew very well that Lorenzo was with someone else, he’d refused to make the first move before. Once Lorenzo learned that Lance was single and seeing how he too was no longer involved with Marc Jacobs, he jumped at the chance of getting to know him better, says the spy.
“They’re dating each other regularly, really like each other and enjoy each other’s company. They’re going to take it one day at a time and see how it goes,” the source says for the magazine. “Lance wasn’t interested in dating right away because he was getting over his own breakup with Kyan Douglas. But Lorenzo was persistent, so they started talking and slowly spending more time together and really hit it off,” the insider further reveals.
“Lorenzo always thought Lance was really attractive, and Lorenzo is gorgeous, totally Lance’s type – tall, dark and handsome. They like the same things – movies, dinner with friends. They’re very low-key. And it’s nice that everyone in their social circles get along. When they both found themselves single at the same time, and Lorenzo found out Lance was now living in New York, he jumped at the opportunity to get to know him better,” the same unnamed but reportedly very reliable source says for People.
Lance and Lorenzo first met a few years back but they did not keep in touch. At an amfAR event in June this year, they got back in contact and started dating. Previous to that, Lorenzo dated and was engaged to Marc Jacobs.
