Nokia already confirmed plans to bring to the market Windows Phone handsets that would pack LTE connectivity capabilities, and it seems that one of these might soon be released on shelves at wireless carrier AT&T in the United States.

Apparently, a LTE-capable Nokia Lumia 800 device should become available for purchase in the US sometime in early 2012, and AT&T will carry it.

Moreover, the new device is expected to arrive on the market either with a new flavor of Mango on board, one that should offer support for LTE, or with the next iteration of Windows Phone, supposedly called Tango.

One way or the other, the LTE-capable flavor of Nokia Lumia 800 will be launched in early 2012 on the US market at AT&T, a recent article on The Verge reads.

They also suggest that the Finnish mobile phone maker actually chose to delay the release of its Windows Phones in the United States to the next year so as to make sure that it can deliver them with LTE on board.

AT&T is certain to have the Lumia 800 smartphone available for its customers, but it seems that Verizon might also be joining the party, although the carrier did not confirm something on the matter for the time being.

Microsoft confirmed not too long ago that Nokia will be launching LTE-capable Windows Phones next year, and it seems that things are actually lining up pretty nicely in this direction.

Nokia also said that its smartphones will hit the shelves in the United States with exclusive new features on board, and LTE could the the capability that would differentiate them from the units being launched in other markets.

However, we should wait for the handset vendor to make an announcement on the matter, so that we could learn specifics on when these phones are set to land on the market.
