The LG VX9600, or Versa, was announced to come to Verizon's lineup a few weeks ago. The handset is considered by the carrier its Most Versatile Phone (MVP), as users will also be provided with a nice looking detachable QWERTY keyboard for the device, as well as with a game control pad.

While the phone was officially announced by Verizon to come only with the QWERTY keyboard, it seems that those waiting for the game pad to surface will be able to rejoice soon enough. To be more precise, that would happen starting with April 1st, as the latest news on the Internet suggests.

Although the pad is slated for release on April Fools’ Day, we hope that it would come to users, as it should be able to turn the LG VX9600 into a nice looking gaming device only for a price of $29. For what it's worth, the game control pad seems to have been specifically created for the phone, as it is reported to even feature a cut-out for the 2-megapixel photo snapper included with the handset.

One interesting tidbit that we learn is that the pad has not been manufactured by LG, although it is uncertain who might have made it. If things are so, it could mean that the company has made the phone's interface specifications available for third party developers, which could also suggest the fact that there might be other devices to feature similar accessories as well.

For the time being, the only thing that seems to be almost certain is that the game control pad is to be released on the market starting April 1st. At the same time, we should note the fact that the pad has been designed so as to slide away when not used, which is convenient enough.
