The long waited VX9900 mobile phone has finally been officially announced and, guess what, the ones that are going to get the first impressions and the first hands-on experience with the highly desired device are going to be the Verizon Wireless customers. The handset's specifications have remained pretty much the same as in the November 8th leaked spec sheet, with one single difference from what I can tell: the phone is going to have a miniSD card slot instead of the microSD that we knew about.

Being a dual-band CDMA V:EV-DO enabled device, the enV will offer its users access to the V CAST mobile content distribution service, and will come with a 2 megapixel camera with video recording support, auto-focus and lens cover, a media player with support for MP3/WMA audio files and MP4/3GP/3G2/WMV video files, a miniSD memory expansion card slot for the storage needy individuals, wireless Bluetooth 1.2 support, 2 speaker-phones, a full QWERTY keyboard that will ease your messaging experience and GPS technology that comes with a VZNavigator navigation software, plus simultaneous GPS for enhanced location accuracy.

The American carrier has already published the date and the cell phone's price; therefore, I can tell - at last - that the VX9900 will be available all across the US in the Verizon stores, beginning with November 27th and - if you decide to take it home with you - you will have to pay a retail price of 320 $ or 200 $ after the mail-in rebate and if you plan to sign a service agreement for one year.

There is also another choice, the two year long "engagement" with Verizon, that will bring you the handset for a price of 149.99 $, after the above mentioned mail-in rebate.
