LG Unveils New Touchscreen Phone, GD510

South Korean mobile phone maker LG Electronics announced today the launch of a new touchscreen device, the LG GD510. The new handset, which the company also calls “Pop,” comes with a 3-inch full-touch display and a compact form factor, while delivering all the simple necessary features that any user would like to have in a touchscreen device.

According to the handset vendor, the new device has been designed so as to offer all the key features users want, yet eliminating the load of features that they wouldn't use. The compact full touchscreen handset comes to a line of touchscreen devices that already includes popular phones like PRADA or LG Cookie, the company added.

“We gave the LG GD510 an optimized feature set which allowed us to concentrate on making the phone more compact and simpler to use,” said Dr. Skott Ahn, president and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company. “Our high-end phones like the Black Label Series New LG Chocolate (LG BL40) may be getting all the attention but there’s a gap in the market for affordable touchscreen phones that we want to fill. The LG GD510 delivers all the essentials in communication, multimedia and entertainment and comes in a compact form factor as well.”

The specification list of the new device includes, besides the 3-inch WQVGA touchscreen display, a 3.0-megapixel photo snapper that sports video recording capabilities, a narrow 4.8 mm bezel, brushed aluminum crafting, a sleek design, a single button to incorporate the menu, end and cancel functions, 8GB of internal memory space, music and video player, connectivity with social networking sites, and more.

According to LG, the new GD510 touchscreen phone is set to become available for purchase on the market in mid-October in Europe, with more markets to receive it in the near future.
