Mobile phone manufacturers are constantly releasing mobile phones in new colors or designs and in most cases it's just plain boring to see the same old phone with a different colored case.

This is one of the cases when a re-vamping of a phone is a pretty good idea. The LG Shine looked good in silver and it looks just as good or maybe even better in gold.

LG has designed the gold plated special edition of the LG Shine and has already displayed it in their HQ in Korea.

The features remain the same, and the phone comes with a 2 megapixel camera, 1GB of internal memory, memory card slot, 2.2 inch display with a QVGA resolution that becomes a mirror when inactive and several other nice features.

With a slim and stylish design, and a stylish 13 mm case, it's no wonder that this handset has become extremely popular worldwide, in many areas surpassing its LG Chocolate brother in sales and success. There was a period when as many as 1500 units were sold per day in Korea, compared to the Chocolate that only managed 1000 per day throughout three weeks.

The Gold edition of the Shine will be available in Korea, although at the moment there is no info on the official release date or price. Since it's a special edition phone, one might expect that only a certain number of such handsets will be for sale, but nothing like this has been announced so far. The GSM version is not confirmed, but we can only hope to see this one available outside of Korea as well. The original Shine was Korea-only at first but afterwards became available globally, so maybe the Gold edition will follow its footsteps.
