Mobile phone carrier Verizon Wireless is gearing up for the release of a new 4G LTE-capable smartphone on its airwaves, the LG Revolution, and it seems that it might not be too long before the wireless carrier makes the move.

Big Red already has two LTE-enabled devices on shelves, namely the HTC ThunderBolt and the Samsung DROID Charge, and should add even more of them to the offering in the near future.

LG Revolution would be one of them, though specific info on when it would be released on shelves at Verizon did not emerge for the time being.

Of course, the wireless carrier already made the device official, and said that it would be put for sale on its network during the ongoing year, but the exact date when LG Revolution should hit stores is not known for the time being.

The fact that promo materials with LG Revolution are arriving in stores now suggests that the release date might not be too far.

Moreover, rumor has it that Verizon might be set to make the handset available for purchase come May 26th, which is no later than tomorrow.

The device was introduced to the world in early January during the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, with Google's Android 2.2 Froyo operating system on board.

The specifications list of the new mobile phone also includes a fast 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon application processor, which should provide users with increased performance capabilities.

At the same time, the handset comes with a 5-megapixel photo snapper on the back, with support for video recording and such.

It would also come with WiFi hotspot capabilities, so that users would be able to share the LTE connectivity with a number of up to 8 WiFi-enabled devices.

As stated above, the new mobile phone should be released on shelves at Verizon soon, perhaps tomorrow, so stay tuned to learn more on it.
