LG Mobile has unveiled today its "new" app store, which is set to include over 3,000 applications mainly targeting feature phones and Windows Mobile devices. The store is now available for users in 33 countries and offers a wide range of exciting games and useful programs. Owners of LG devices will be happy to find that LGMobile.com was integrated into the LG Application Store, so members can now employ their existing ID in the LG Application Store.

The availability of the applications is based on a membership level criterion, which is determined by each member's activity on the store's website. There are three levels of membership, which gives access to certain applications: Single (new registration or lower than 50 points in 30 days), Double (between 50 and 299 points for the past 30 days) and Triple (300 activity points or more).

Members receive activity points for taking various actions like: login once a day (10 points), adding tags (5 times per day max., 2 points), rating apps, sharing or sending emails with apps. Members’ level changes in real time and the new level will be valid for 30 days.

Lack of Android compatible applications has been met with the promise that the store will offer them by the end of the year: “Along with a range of applications for Windows OS phones that are already on sale, the new LG Application Store will also extend its line-up of applications for Android-powered smartphones at the end of this year.“

The LG Application Store opens today in 23 markets. The Korean company promises to increase the number of programs in the LG Application Store to 4,000 by the end of this year and to expand the service to 33 countries including the UK, Germany, France, Italy, Spain and Iran.
