LG’s first try on Android tablets, the Optimus Pad is now available for free at Rogers. However, customers who want to take advantage of this offer will have to commit to a new two- or three-year contract.

The tablet’s one-year term and no-term pricing options are still the same at $449.99 (340 EUR) and $550 (415 EUR), respectively.

LG Optimus Pad comes with Android 3.0 Honeycomb on board and packs a 1 GHz dual core processor, and ULP GeForce GPU, as well as 32GB of internal memory.

There’s no word on a possible Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade for the Optimus Pad, but the Korean handset maker already released an LTE version.

The tablet sports an 8.9-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with 768 x 1280 pixels resolution and 3D capabilities, as well as dual 5-megapixel rear cameras, along with a 2-megapixel front-facing photo snapper.
