LG has just announced the exclusive availability of its Optimus Black smartphone in Romania through Orange.

It appears that for the next month, the Optimus Black will only be available from Orange for as low as 79 Euros with a new two-year agreement.

Customers will be able to choose one of the three color schemes available: white, black and pink.

The Korean handset manufacturer has previously announced that the Optimus Black will be introduced in more European markets before the end of May, but the device only made it to Romania in mid-June.

Unveiled earlier this year during the Consumer Electronics Show, the Optimus Black does not aim to be the fastest smartphone on the market; instead it promises users a longer battery time and unparalleled energy efficiency.

Touted as one of the brightest smartphones on the mobile market, the Optimus Black comes with a larger 4.0-inch multi-touch screen display, which is based on LG's NOVA technology.

The Optimus Black screen is capable of emitting 700 nits (candela per square meter) and it features 16 million colors support, 480 x 800 pixels resolution, as well as accelerometer sensor for UI auto-rotate and proximity sensor for auto turn-off.

Hardware-wise, LG Optimus Black is equipped with a Texas Instruments 3630 processor clocked at 1 GHz speed.

Furthermore, the handset runs Google's Android 2.2 Froyo platform, along with LG's Optimus 2.0 and Gesture 2.0 user-friendly interfaces.

Other highlights of the phone include: HSDPA, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, DLNA function, Wi-Fi Direct-Fi and Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP and EDR support, as well as GPS with A-GPS support.

It appears that the the Optimus Black will be delivered with an extra back cover included in the sales package.

In this regard, the handset manufacturer announced earlier this year a partnership with the Keith Haring Foundation that will see the American pop star’s artwork featured on the Optimus Black.
