14 DAY TRIAL // Canadian mobile phone maker TELUS is gearing up for the release of a new Android handset on its network, none other than the white flavor of the LG Optimus Black, some of the latest reports on the matter suggest.
The wireless carrier already has an LG Optimus Black version available for purchase on its airwaves, namely the 'Skype Edition', which was released back in July, but should make a new model available for its customers, it seems.
The white flavor of LG Optimus Black is expected to become available for purchase at TELUS as soon as today, rumor has it.
The same as the original device, the white version of LG Optimus Black might be powered by Google's Android 2.2 Froyo operating system.
Moreover, it is expected to hit the shelves with the same price tag attached to it, namely $399.99 (around 295.35 EUR / $403.82 USD) if purchased contract free, or nothing with the signing of a three-year contract.
The mobile phone arrives on shelves with a 4-inch IPS touchscreen display (which can deliver a 480 x 800 pixels resolution), and with a fast 1GHz application processor inside.
Moreover, it was packed with a 5-megapixel photo snapper on the back, with LED flash, auto focus and support for HD video recording. A secondary camera on the front can offer support for video calling.
The specifications list of the new handset also includes Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth, and 3G (HSDPA, 7.2 Mbps; HSUPA, 5.76 Mbps) connectivity capabilities, along with DLNA, Wi-Fi Direct, and Wi-Fi hotspot.
The new device also sports built-in GPS receiver with A-GPS support, as well as Stereo FM radio with RDS, and a microSD memory card slot that can accommodate memory cards of up to 32GB.
As stated above, the white flavor of Optimus Black, is expected to become available for purchase at TELUS today, at least this is what a leaked document that emerged over at MobileSyrup shows.
