LG KS360 Announced for Romania

LG, currently the third largest handset manufacturer in the world, announced today the upcoming availability of LG KS360 in Romania. The KS360 is a new and unusual mobile phone, coming with a weird design and targeting young mobile users who want to be connected with their friends at any time.

First spotted in mid-June and officially presented by LG at the beginning of July, the KS360 is a true "messaging machine", as it packs a full QWERTY keyboard that slides-out with ease. This allows users to quickly send SMS messages and emails, as well as to chat via IM clients while on the go. Moreover, the new handset provides easy access to networking Websites like Facebook, MySpace or Bebo.

The rest of the features packed in KS360 include a 2.4 inch TFT display with 240 x 320 pixels and 262K colors, tri-band GSM connectivity (900/ 1800/ 1900 MHz) with GPRS and EDGE, a 2 Megapixel camera with fixed focus and video recording, Media player, Bluetooth 2.0, USB 2.0 and an 800 mAh battery of unknown performances (let's hope they're decent). A cool thing about the handset is that, although it's not a touchscreen one, its display has a touch-enabled dialing feature.

One of the drawbacks of KS360 is represented by the lack of 3G connectivity - data transfers will not be as speedy as users might want. Furthermore, the internal memory of the new LG is not too generous if we compare it to the ones of other multimedia phones: only 15MB. Fortunately, this can be expanded with a microSD or microSDHC card (up to 4GB).

Measuring 101.5 x 51 x 16.8 millimeters (when closed), LG KS360 will be available in several color versions, including black / pink, black / blue and red / silver.

Although the KS360 was also announced by LG for lots of other European countries besides Romania, the South Korean company did not mention the handset's retail price. Anyway, judging from its features and target, I guess the new KS360 will be offered for a price somewhere around 200 - 250 Euros (300 - 400 USD). But we'd better wait for an official confirmation about this.
