Hot on the heels of the announcement regarding the certification of its 5.5-inch Quad HD IPS display for smartphones, South Korean mobile phone maker LG Electronics has unveiled the first handset that will arrive on shelves with the new panel on the front, the LG Isai FL (LGL24).

The new mobile phone has been announced in Japan, where it will be released on the network of wireless carrier KDDI with top-of-the-line hardware specifications.

The device leaked online last year, when it was said to be nothing more than the Japanese flavor of the upcoming LG G3 flagship, and the official specs sheet attached to it appears to confirm that.

LG Isai FL should land on the market with a 2.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor hidden beneath the aforementioned 5.5-inch 2560 x 1440 pixels touchscreen.

Moreover, it has been unveiled with Adreno 330 graphics inside, as well as with 2GB of DDR3 RAM and 32GB of internal memory. It also comes with a microSD memory card slot, which will allow users to add up to 128GB of additional storage space to it.

In all fairness, the LG G3 has recently been rumored to feature a Snapdragon 805 processor, and to include 3GB of RAM when launched, but it is not uncommon to see versions of the same phone launched with modified hardware specs in different markets.

On the back, the new LG Isai FL (LGL24) sports a 13.2-megapixel camera with LED flash, which is also capable of recording videos in 4K resolution. A 1.3MP front camera for making video calls while on the go has also been included.

At the same time, the new mobile phone has been made official with 4G LTE connectivity inside, as well as with support for WiMAX 2 + and 3G HSPA+ networks in Japan. The usual WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.0, and NFC are also available on it, along with a built-in BGS receiver.

The new LG Isai FL is powered by a 3000mAh battery, measures 145 x 76 x 10.5mm and weighs 160 grams. The mobile phone will land on shelves with the Android 4.4 KitKat operating system loaded on top right from the start.

Additionally, the smartphone has been announced with a waterproof design, as well as with LG’s KnockON and Knock Code features, and with the Q slide dual-window multitasking functionality. It also comes with an isai motion feature.

The new LG Isai FL (LGL24) is set to become available for purchase at KDDI in Japan by the end of July, in White, Blue and Pink color options. Unfortunately, no specific info on the phone’s pricing has been provided as of now.
