14 DAY TRIAL // A new Android-based mobile phone is now available for purchase in the United States, on the airwaves of regional wireless carrier US Cellular, namely the LG Genesis.
Featuring a dual-touchscreen design in a clamshell form factor, the new mobile phone was made available with a price tag of $149.99 attached to it, after a $100 mail-in rebate.
The phone has a lot to offer, it seems, and the price tag at which US Cellular put it for sale makes it very appealing.
The mobile phone comes with Google's Android 2.2 Froyo operating system on board, and sports a full QWERTY keyboard in addition to the aforementioned touchscreens.
The specifications list of this device would include an external 3.6-inch touchscreen display, complemented by a 3.2-inch screen on the inside, as well as a 5-megapixel photo snapper on the back, with video recording capabilities.
The handset also comes with a microSD memory card slot with support for up to 32GB cards, and an 8GB SD Card included, as well as with CDMA / EVDO (3G) connectivity, and Wi-Fi and Bluetooth capabilities.
Other specs include GPS receiver, a 1500mAh battery (up to 2.5 hours of talk time), full HTML Browser with Adobe Flash support, and access to various Google Mobile services, as well as to the Android Market or downloading applications.
