South Korean mobile phone maker LG Electronics is reportedly gearing up for the release of its first handsets running under Microsoft's Windows Phone 7 OS, in an attempt to become both the first vendor to launch such as device, as well as the largest maker of Windows Phone 7 smartphones.

We already learned various details on some of the handsets LG would bring to shelves with Windows Phone 7 on board, including the LG C900 and the LG E900, the latter making a new appearance on the web today.

According to some of the latest news on the matter, the upcoming LG E900 Windows Phone 7 device should include a whooping 16GB of internal memory, which is pretty impressive, one should agree.

We say it is impressive as another appealing Windows Phone 7 device, the Samsung GT-i8700, is said to come to shelves with only 8GB of storage space, which means that LG's phone proves to be a better choice from this point of view.

Moreover, a recent article on WMPoweruser suggests that the handset should arrive on the market in Europe, and that US might get it at a later date.

In all fairness, all of the previous reports on Windows Phone 7's launch date suggested that the old continent would get it sometime in October, while the North American markets would see it only one month later, in November.

The Global Certification Forum already approved the upcoming mobile phone, where it was spotted with quad-band GSM and 900/2100MHz 3G connectivity options, also suggesting that Europe would get it.

The guys over at phone Arena add some more details into the mix, suggesting that the LG E900 would be set to arrive on shelves at Vodafone, at least this is what the video below, which unveiled the info on its storage capacity, suggests at one moment.

In case Vodafone gets the phone, something that seems to have been already nailed down, it still remains to be seen in what countries it would make it available for purchase.
