To hit the US in July

The latest LG handset from the Chocolate series, namely LG Chocolate 3, planned to be released in the US by Verizon Wireless, will be available in two colors: black and blue. The black version was already unveiled by Verizon, in the press release announcing the new handset, while the blue one was (apparently) kept secret.

Well, compared to the black Chocolate 3, the blue one looks more girlish, hence it will probably be successful among female mobile users.

Succeeding Verizon's previous Chocolate phones, which were sliders, the new Chocolate 3 comes with a clamshell design and more advanced features (not too advanced, though). The main resemblance between Chocolate 3 and the previous Chocolate handsets is the big and round navigation pad, situated on the front case of the new clamshell.

Among the features of Chocolate 3, we have: a 2 Megapixel camera with video recording, a 240 x 320 pixel internal display, dual-band CDMA connectivity with EV-DO Rev. 0, Music player, stereo Bluetooth, dual speakers, V CAST Music and V CAST Video, FM transmitter, email and Web capabilities, Instant Messaging, predictive text input and so on. A nice improvement that the new Chocolate brings (when compared to the previous models) is its 1GB of internal memory which can be expanded up to 8GB with a microSD or a microSDHC card.

The size and weight of Chocolate 3 were not announced, but from the available images, the phone seems to be pretty slim (hence also lightweight).

LG Chocolate 3 will hit the US market sometime in July, for a price that was not yet announced by Verizon. The handset is part of Verizon's new line-up of LG phones, which also includes LG Decoy (already available) and the high-end, full-touch LG Dare, which should be released by the end of this month.
