Xbox 360 owners will be able to try out LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1-4, as a demo of the game will be launched on Xbox Live Marketplace on the 7th of June, that is, next Monday. The demo will also be available for the PlayStation 3 and Windows PCs sometime at the end of June. Warner Brothers also mentions in the press release that this new installment in the LEGO series will be released in the UK on the 25th of June.

The demo will give players a taste of what's to come in the full version, allowing them to learn and cast spells. Also, they will be able to explore the Forbidden Forest, one of the iconic locations in the series that have been transported in the game. Others included in the full game range from the Hogwarts castle to the Diagon Alley.

LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1-4 is the latest entry in the LEGO video-game franchise, developed by Traveler's Tales and published by Warner Brothers. This title will let players explore the first four books of the series, Philosopher's Stone, Chamber of Secrets, Prisoner of Azkaban and The Goblet of Fire, in the light-hearted way that characterizes the LEGO series.

Gamers will get to play as Harry, Ron, Hermione, or 167 other characters that have appeared in the first four novels. Some of them will have different skills, like their correspondents in the books and movies. Harry Potter, for example, will be better at riding a broomstick, with various abilities that will enable him to perform better than the others while flying.

LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1-4 will focus on magic-based gameplay, of course, as the players will have to cast spells, mix potions, and fly on broomsticks to defeat the challenges that they will have to face. Freedom of exploration is one of the features of the title, the developer promising that it will let players explore the aforementioned locations at their own pace.
