Hideo Kojima was proud to show what they've accomplished, at the Playstation Premiere 2007 event in Tokyo

Everyone was dying to see (or at least hear) what Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots plays like. Sony, as well as Konami knew they couldn't allow anymore time to pass without showing off some gameplay footage of Snake in action. Thus, Sony Computer Entertainment presented the first gameplay video of the stealth-based title in Japan on a PlayStation 3, at the Playstation Premiere 2007 event in Tokyo.

Unfortunately, the footage isn't quite yet available (after all, it was just yesterday they showed it), but then luckily, 1UP.com was there and saw the whole thing, describing it in the following manner: "And here's what everyone's been waiting for. Hideo Kojima demonstrated the gameplay segment of Metal Gear Solid 4 on actual PS3 hardware for the first time. Kojima showed Snake using his camo suit to disguise himself as a bronze statue, hide in barrels and trash cans. He also showed Snake knocking down enemies rolling the barrel while he is still inside it. After feeling some discomfort, Snake "revives" as he is given a female idol magazine. The producer also revealed that an online multiplayer mode will be in the game and more details will be announced at the 20th Anniversary Party next week."

That pretty much concludes it I guess. How does it feel to know what the game plays like after seeing only some trailers of the game and some cinematic videos? I know, it sucks that you can't actually see everything mentioned above, but hey, if not as soon as this evening, then in a couple of days it'll spread everywhere.

At the same event - according to reports from gpara.com - Polyphony Digital president Kazunori Yamauchi announced that they'll be releasing Gran Turismo 5 Prologue, sometime during October, while the game will also be featured at the Tokyo Motor Show during the same month. And again - 1UP, thanks for the information.
