14 DAY TRIAL // Mutant Games, a new video game studio focused on digital distribution platforms such as iPhone, XBLA, Wiiware and Steam, recently announced the launch of its brand new title, Champion Striker.
The game seems to be just another football simulator, but limits the player to playing as a Striker or Goalkeeper. After players are making their choice, they will be able to flick the ball to kick, when playing as Striker, or tilt the iPhone to move the gloves, when taking the role of a Goalkeeper.
Even though it may sound simple, the game offers lots of fun features, such as different Targets, Power Ups and Ball types. Multiplayer mode is also available, but it must be player on the same device, as the two players will share the device by turns: kick balls and then challenge your friend to save them.
“We felt that none of the other penalty games in the App Store offered a complete experience, in Champion Striker you can be the goalkeeper, taking advantage of the iPhone's accelerometer, or play a penalty round against a friend in the bar” said Daniel Fernandez, CEO of Mutant Games. “We're very proud of the captains illustrations, they differentiate our game from the other penalty games" said Jaime Herrera, Art Director at Mutant Games.
The main features of the game include: 16 different goalkeepers; two player multiplayer locally sharing the device; Leaderboards and Open Feint featured; Tons of Achievements; a unique captain for each national team; arcade style music, difficult to get out of your head; link to your Twitter or Facebook accounts to auto-boast your high scores.
Champion Striker is now available for download on App Store and can be bought for only $0.99. The price offer is limited for a short time though.
