Coming from a family where good looks equate popularity and constant income, the statuesque Khloe Kardashian had it rough while growing up, being often bullied as a teen for being ugly and fat.

In a recent interview with Life & Style magazine, cited by Showbiz, the reality star reveals it was only the love of her family that saved her.

Granted, being bullied is very hard but it was twice as difficult for Khloe to have herself compared to her slimmer, less tall and more popular sisters, Kourtney and Kim.

Ironically, it was their love and understanding that eventually “saved” her, she says in the interview, because they helped her see that being different is not bad. On the contrary, actually.

“I’ve been bullied, basically, my entire life. I’ve been compared to my sisters since the day I was born,” the reality star says.

To this day, she’s still being compared to them but the difference is that, now, she knows she doesn’t have to be like them to be accepted because she’s learned to love herself as she is.

“I don’t look exactly like them... I’m bigger than them, but I’m me... I’m just always told how big I am... It’s always something,” she says of how people always make an issue of her height and heavier built.

However, she may not be all that bothered about this now but this wasn’t always so. As a teen, she found it very hard to deal with this kind of pressure and constant criticism.

“Having someone in your class call you fat, ugly, too tall and so on, you start to think all those things about yourself,” Khloe says on the subject of bullying.

“And if you’re like me, those words are played on repeat inside your head,” the reality star adds.

“When I was at home, I felt loved and safe. My sisters were always a safe haven for me. I knew they would always play with me and make me feel like I was one of them,” Khloe further explains.

In the same interview, Khloe stresses no one should stand for being bullied, seeking not revenge but rather the comfort, love and understanding of their friends and family, just like she did when she was younger.
