14 DAY TRIAL // An end for the Gosselin drama is not only nowhere in sight, but also more impossible to fathom with each passing hour. After Kate filed papers saying Jon withdrew $230,000 from their joint bank account without her permission, Jon too has taken his grievances to court, saying in documents filed that Kate too has been taking money and hiding behind his back, as TMZ informs.
Jon has long been saying that Kate, as the one who’s handling all the finances in the household, has more money than he has and, at the same time, the liberty to spent it without being held accountable for it. In light of Kate’s recent accusations, Jon has set out to prove that not only is Kate not broke and unable to pay her bills and feed her children as she claims, but also that she’s manipulative and a liar who is trying to make a living by exploiting her own children.
“A few days after Kate claimed Jon raided their joint bank account (a legal no-no), Jon filed papers of his own claiming she did the same. According to the papers filed last week, Jon claims Kate withdrew over $60,000 from their joint account between July and September 2009. He also claims she took out over $1 million from February 2008 to June 2009 that have not been properly accounted for.” TMZ writes of the alleged court law violation perpetrated by Kate.
Still, sources close to Kate insist that whatever withdrawals she made, she made them with the law on her side, as opposed to what Jon did just recently. If she took money out of a bank account, she did so because she was free to do so without asking for permission from anyone, unlike Jon, who had to contact her and ask for her permission before raiding what was their joint bank account meant for family expenses.
As we also reported over the weekend, Kate Gosselin is going after her soon to be ex-husband with all guns a-blazing. Because he took out the money from the joint account, Kate wants him to pay spousal and child support because she’s clearly no longer able to fend for herself and the eight children she has with Jon.
