14 DAY TRIAL // Even if, just a couple of days ago, reliable sources from Major’s camp were saying that she was still dating Jon Gosselin, the father of 8 who rose to fame with “Jon & Kate Plus 8” and is now described in the media as a serial dater, she’s telling a different story in her latest interview. Sitting down with E! for a 3-night interview, Kate Major, the former tabloid editor who quit because of her affair with Gosselin, says there’s nothing wrong about him, as the NY Daily News can confirm.
Kate Major met Gosselin as she was about to do a piece on him and his girlfriend, 22-year-old Hailey Glassman, for the tabloid Major was working for at the time. She instantly fell for him and got very positive signs that he too was feeling the chemistry they shared when they were together, Major reveals in the interview. Even if she’s a bit vague as to whether they’re still together or not, Kate 2.0, as the media has dubbed her, says he is a perfect man she could reproach nothing.
“It’s been a complete whirlwind, these past two weeks now. I wake up some days and I think, ‘What was I thinking?’” Major reveals in the interview. Apparently, she was smitten by Jon the moment she laid eyes on him and, clearly, there was nothing she could do to fight the feeling. Not even the fact that he was in another relationship, that he had just announced his divorce a few days earlier and that he carried serious “baggage” in the form of eight small kids would deter Kate from considering him a pretty good catch, almost too good to be true.
“I had even joked with people at the office and said, ‘Oh God, what am I, the next Kate?’ He’s a great, great guy. I wish I could think of something wrong with the guy, but there really isn’t.” Major explains. When asked about whether they’ve kissed already or not, the former tabloid editor plays it coy saying she wouldn’t like to “go into details.” Ironically enough, the 3-nigh interview will be all about the details of her affair with Gosselin so far, an affair that he won’t even acknowledge it ever existed.
Just yesterday, for instance, Jon Gosselin was telling the media, in his first full interview since the divorce, that he had only dated Hailey Glassman and had never been unfaithful to her. Judging by the kind words that he spoke in reference to his current girl, Hailey, it could very well be that Major’s story is entirely fabricated, as reports in the media have already claimed, although for what specific purposes is not yet known.
