After scooping up several awards at the Billboard Music Awards 2011 ceremony over the weekend, Justin Bieber and his girlfriend Selena Gomez headed to Hawaii for some well-deserved R&R. Also there, The Biebs unveiled his new body art. As fans must undoubtedly know, Justin Bieber
already has a tattoo: a small bird on the lower abdomen, which is a family tradition of sorts, in the sense that they all have it.
Though he rarely does anything without getting papped – and thus have the entire world know about it in a matter of hours – Justin somehow managed to get inked again.
As
PopEater notes, when in Hawaii, during a stroll on the beach with Selena, a shirtless Justin showed off his brand new tattoo: and it’s a religious one no less.
“The tattoo reads ‘Jesus’ in Hebrew and runs along the pop phenom’s left side,” the e-zine says. Photos confirm that the tattoo is right on his ribcage.
Choosing such a religious tattoo shouldn’t come as a surprise for fans either.
“Talk about wearing your faith on your sleeve, Bieber has always been very vocal regarding his religious views, remembering to thank God in his numerous acceptance speeches,” PopEater writes.
“This is the second tattoo for Bieber, his first is the outline of a seagull on his hip – a tattoo that several members of his family also don. We wonder what Disney good girl, Gomez, thinks of her man’s new ink,” the e-zine adds.
As noted above, before the trip to Hawaii, Bieber was
at the Billboard Awards, where his work for the past year has been duly celebrated.
He won Top New Artist, Top Social Artist, the Fan Favorite Award, Top Digital Media Artist and Top Streaming Artist.
In his acceptance speech for Top New Artist, Justin thanked his fans and stressed that he was happy he could still be grounded and “normal” despite being the most famous teen star on the face of the planet – indeed, quite an accomplishment if you think about it.
