In the United Kingdom

It's quite a rare sight for the United Kingdom videogame chart but two new entries sit at the top for the previous week, with Just Cause 2, the latest release that Square Enix prepared for the Western market under the Eidos brand, taking the first position.

With Rico grappling along, tying stuff together and generally causing wholesale chaos, second spot went to Pokemon Soul Silver from Nintendo, which, under the banner of catching them all, seems to replicate the success it has had in Japan on Western markets.

Third place for the week went to Battlefield: Bad Company 2, the first person shooter developed by DICE and published by Electronic Arts, with its sales probably pushed up by the announcement that it would be receiving two fresh free maps for new buyers on March 30. Bad Company 2 was previously in second spot.

Pokemon Heart Gold, also from Nintendo, managed to take fourth place as a new entry, while Just Dance from Ubisoft was pushed down one spot to five. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 from Infinity Ward and Activision managed to jump up four places in the chart, from 10 to 6, also due to the launch of the Stimulus Package, which arrived, with some issues, on March 6.

Last week’s number one, God of War III, the brawler made by Sony Computer and launched exclusively for the PlayStation 3, slid down quite far to number seven, Final Fantasy XIII, the Japanese role playing game from Square Enix, going from third place to eight. Wii Sports Resort from Nintendo is at nine, down one position, while Wii Fit Plus closes down the top ten.

Heavy Rain slid out of the top 10 to reach 15 coming from 7, while Metro 2033 went to 14 coming from fifth. Sonic & SEGA All Stars Racing is also out of the top 10.
