While Kate and Jon Gosselin are still struggling to settle their differences over money in a court of law, their story has transcended the realm of the written media and has made its way into the plotline of a new “Law & Order” episode. “Reality Bites,” the episode in question that will air on October 16, has been inspired by the Gosselin drama and their bitter war of words in particular, Us Magazine informs.

Producers of the longstanding show have not yet made any official statement regarding the story, but one might as well note that this is not the first time that the show takes bits of real life and integrates them into the plot. Unlike other times in the past, though, in this particular episode, the source of inspiration will be obvious, as it will focus on a single father who stars in his own reality show, “Larry Plus 10.” His wife Joy has been killed after they had adopted no less than 10 children with special needs.

“Detectives Lupo and Bernard (Jeremy Sisto, Anthony Anderson) grow suspicious when it’s revealed that Joy Johnson wasn’t totally on board with doing the show – she feared for her kids’ privacy – and that Larry, a real estate developer deeply in debt, signed the lucrative Larry Plus 10 contract the day after his wife’s murder.” Us Magazine writes citing other reports in the media. As it’s common knowledge by now, in real life, it’s Jon who is opposing Kate’s decision of continuing with the reality show on the grounds that it is detrimental for their eight children.

“Adding to the drama: Larry has a girlfriend – the young babysitter. There’s also a character named Belinda Alvarez (Nina Lisandrello) – who resembles octuplet mother Nadya Suleman – who has 10 kids (via in-vitro fertilization) and is competing with the Johnsons to get the show. ‘I was hoping for Octuplets, but God decided to bestow that blessing on Nadya Suleman,’ the character tells detectives. She says she wanted her show to be ‘like Jon & Kate, you know, only less depressing’ – and is furious after losing out to the Johnsons.” the same mag further explains.

As we also reported, the Gosselins have reached a point where they are now accusing each other of stealing family money and trying to hide the fact from the other. Kate has filed papers claiming Jon withdrew $230,000 out of a joint bank account without authorization, while he’s telling the media that she’s hiding money from him, having made more than $1 million off a book deal, money that she keeps in the 11 accounts she does not tell the media about.
