Johnny Depp can do no wrong, it has often been claimed, especially by his very loyal female fanbase. As a matter of fact, it is being said that this one actor is so close to being perfect and so iconic that he even makes a beer belly look great. And a beer belly is what Depp wants for his old age, as a BANG report reveals (via GossipRocks).

The star, known for being extremely protective of his privacy and for often voicing his discontent with the excessive media attention, is now speaking again about what he would like to do as he ages. As it turns out, that is as common as getting a beer belly and spending time doing nothing but staring into thin air. “I just want to become a traditional old man with a beer belly. I’d like to be sitting on the veranda of our place in France, just staring out over the lawns.” Depp reportedly told the media just recently.

Although Depp’s statement sounds nothing out of the ordinary, anyone can tell he must be among the very few stars who would ever dream of getting old like this. In a world where Botox use and the number of plastic surgery procedures is increasing at a frightening rate, celebrities seem to have forgotten that they too are only human, several glossy magazines point out. Then again, Depp was never a celebrity in the true sense of the word, often agreeing to play the fame game only because he was contractually bound by movie studios, it has been stressed.

Speaking of being contractually bound and of Depp’s projects, the star will be seen next in “Public Enemies,” a film that has him take on the charming, yet extremely dangerous, bank robber John Dillinger. Opposite him, the movie will have Christian Bale and Marion Cotillard, under the direction of acclaimed moviemaker Michael Mann. “Public Enemies” hits US theaters on July 1.

“In the action-thriller ‘Public Enemies,’ acclaimed filmmaker Michael Mann directs Johnny Depp, Christian Bale and Academy Award winner Marion Cotillard in the story of legendary Depression-era outlaw John Dillinger (Depp) – the charismatic bank robber whose lightning raids made him the number one target of J. Edgar Hoover’s fledgling FBI and its top agent, Melvin Purvis (Bale), and a folk hero to much of the downtrodden public. No one could stop Dillinger and his gang. No jail could hold him. His charm and audacious jailbreaks endeared him to almost everyone – from his girlfriend Billie Frechette (Cotillard) to an American public who had no sympathy for the banks that had plunged the country into the Depression.” the official description of the movie reads.

With a release date set so soon, fans must know that more Johnny Depp interviews are to come their way, so keep an eye on this space if you too happen to be one of them.
