With legendary guitar tracks

The race for the most successful music game is heating up, with Nintendo presenting Wii Music at E3 and with Disney also revealing a game called Sing It. And one of the most interesting aspects in the race is who manages to bring popular and interesting tracks to their game. Aerosmith has already signed off on an exclusivity deal with Activision for Guitar Hero and there's talk that Metallica might soon do the same thing. One of the biggest names in the history of music, which was not included in a music game, is Jimi Hendrix. Well, Neversoft says that the legendary artist will be featured in the new Guitar Hero, but it is currently unknown whether guitar burning will be part of the show.

Brian Bright has confirmed for Gamespot that the upcoming game from the company, Guitar Hero: World Tour, will feature at least two tracks from Jimi Hendrix, the famous left handed guitar player famous for his onstage antics. The game itself will ship with Purple Haze, featured in a live version, and with The Wind Cries Mary, while other tracks are set to be released as downloadable content after the game ships.

There was already a track by Jimi Hendrix in the first Guitar Hero game. The song was called Spanish Castle Magic, though it was not a master track, but a cover version with no vocals which didn't really do the song justice. The best guitarist in the world would probably be pretty content to know that plastic guitar players all over the world will be able to rack up high scores on his tracks when Guitar Hero: World Tour launches.

We are eagerly waiting news regarding the negotiations that are now taking place between Beatles representatives and the people from Neversoft and Harmonix, regarding the use of The Beatles master tracks in a game.
