14 DAY TRIAL // Jennifer Love Hewitt, now pregnant with her first child, recently quit Twitter because she didn’t want to be target of negativity anymore, but it seems she can’t avoid unwanted attention altogether: trying to prevent a paparazzo from taking her picture, her fiancé got into a physical altercation with him.
TMZ reports that Brian Hallisay, the actress’ fiancé, is now being investigated by the police for assault, after the photographer filed a report against him.
The incident took place at the weekend, with the police investigation now underway.
“JLH and Brian were leaving the always-delicious Toscana restaurant in Brentwood when a pesky paparazzo prepared to snap some pics. We're told the couple asked the photog to lay off, but he ignored them and started snapping away,” the celebrity publication reports.
“Hallisay then allegedly got into it with the cameraman, and during the scuffle the photog claims the camera hit him in the face – near his eye,” adds the same media outlet.
When the actress noticed that the photographer had been hit, she immediately tried to make amends by offering to pose for pictures for him.
The aforementioned publication claims he accepted, but other sources note that he refused and would not snap her, now that he’d been “assaulted.”
“Law enforcement sources tell us he went to the cop shop a few hours later and filed a battery report against Hallisay. Our sources say when he came to the station there was no visible injury to his face or eye,” TMZ writes.
Neither Jennifer nor Brian was available for comment at the time of writing but, seeing how hard she’s been trying to fly under the radar these days, perhaps it’s a safe bet to assume she won’t say anything at all.
The two announced they were engaged and expecting their first child together in June this year. They’re yet to say anything about a possible wedding date.
