Last night at the Los Angeles Nokia Theater, the 2009 American Music Awards ceremony took place, one of the most anticipated and hyped events of the kind this year. That much expectation did not fail to take a toll on the performers themselves, as Adam Lambert and, earlier in the evening, Jennifer Lopez both took tumbles while doing some rather uncomplicated moves of their dance routines.

If the rumors we were hearing many years ago that Lopez, out of pride for her bum, had it ensured, then it was money well spent, since last night’s ceremony saw the daredevil singer, dressed as a boxing champion, take a rather hard fall on her backside. However, always professional, Lopez hardly blinked when she slipped and landed on the floor, and instantly got up to continue her routine, as AceShowbiz can also confirm.

“Always the professional on her every on-stage appearance, Jennifer Lopez failed to present a smooth performance at the 2009 American Music Awards on Sunday, November 22 at Nokia Theatre in L.A. when she took a tumble when delivering her single Louboutins.’ She, however, managed to get back on her feet and finish her song,” the aforementioned publication says. One might also add that not even the slightest crack in her onstage persona for the gig – the boxing champ – was noticeable for the cameras in the aftermath of the incident.

“Lopez turned the stage into a scene similar to that of a boxing ring. To match the theme, the songstress had promoter and professional wrestler Vince McMahon yelling his signature catch phrase, ‘Let’s get ready to rumble!’ while she herself and her backing dancers also dressed like boxers. Halfway through the song, Lopez climbed up the backs of her back-up dancers who had bent over to create a staircase. When reaching the top, the music star jumped off but failed to land smoothly on her feet. She slipped and fell on her bottom. She was quick to stand up though and finished her performance,” says the same e-zine.

Fans too were quick to rush to dedicated forums on the Internet to voice their support for the singer, as well as their admiration at her not missing a beat because of the incident. This is proof that Jennifer Lopez has been and will always be a pro, no matter what nay-sayers in the industry might suggest. What with her upcoming album, viewed as a sort of comeback because of the maternity leave she recently took, this can’t but help increase the number of said fans.
