At the beginning of last month, singer and actress Jennifer Hudson unveiled a much trimmer and toned body, made possible thanks to a powerful combination of more intense workouts and having learned portion control with Weight Watchers. In the latest issue of People magazine, the star talks of her weight-loss secrets, while the cover also features a photo of the beaming star, now an enviable size 6.

As we also reported on several occasions, Jennifer has worked hard to lose the weight she’d gained while pregnant with her son. However, it wasn’t until she was cast in “Winnie” that she had to really put a deadline to her efforts, as the role required her to be a few pounds lighter than she was in real life. So, with the help of a personal trainer and the weight-loss program Weight Watchers, she set out to work: and can now most proudly show off the amazing results, having gone down no less than ten dress sizes.

“Once a size 16, Jennifer Hudson is now reveling in her new size 6 body, telling People, ‘I’m in the best shape of my life!’ After giving birth to her son last August, Hudson, 28, had to drop her post-pregnancy pounds for her next movie role as Winnie Mandela. ‘Whatever it takes to morph into a character I’ll do it,’ says Hudson. But the star went about her weight loss in a healthy way by working out with trainer Harley Pasternak and learning about portion control through Weight Watchers’ point system (Hudson became the official spokesperson for the weight loss plan earlier this year),” People says by means of a teaser for the upcoming issue, with Jennifer on the cover.

“Now as the actress gets ready to fly to the South African set of her new movie, Hudson will face the challenges of figuring out how many points are in vetkoek – a South African fried treat. Just don’t think she’s going to fall off the weight-loss wagon anytime soon. ‘She will need to investigate every new product on this new continent,’ says Liz Josefsberg, Hudson’s Weight Watchers counselor. ‘I am not the least bit worried about Jennifer… She is an amazing and resilient personality who will be just fine in her surroundings’,” the publication further says.

Of course, fans already know that Jennifer has worked hard to become this fit and slim, but for specifics on her weight-loss plan, as well as advice from the star herself, they should pick up the latest issue of the mag, out on newsstands now.
