There are perhaps few other things that make the headlines so often about Jennifer Aniston as her personal life does, as the actress herself admitted on several occasions. It’s no wonder then that word of her renewing contact with former flame singer John Mayer is again sparking speculation that the two are about to become an item again, for the third time, as People magazine points out.

After playing coy for a very long while about their relationship, Aniston and Mayer first broke up in August last year. Months later, they rekindled their romance, but this time it was for a much shorter while. After their highly mediated Oscar appearance, the two stars called it quits again, with sources telling the tabloids the former “Friends” star had been so badly hurt, that she chose to have no kind of contact with Mayer anymore.

It seems that now she’s finally ready to be friends with him again, from what other sources reveal to the media. “It’s not the first time Jennifer Aniston and John Mayer have reunited after a split, but the couple are simply ‘enjoying their friendship,’ says a source close to the singer. ‘They’ve been talking for a while – they’re very friendly.’ Adds another source, ‘They’ve remained close.’” People magazine writes.

Of course, if Aniston is thinking of getting back together with Mayer, as several US tabs say she is, then that completely rubbishes earlier reports that had it that she was head over heels in love with her “Bounty” co-star Gerard Butler. In fact, unnamed insiders were telling the media not very long ago that the actress was on the verge of despair at the mere thought that Butler might forget her once shooting for the film was over and he went back home, leaving her in the US.

“Jennifer Aniston’s summer of love may be over. Filming has wrapped on her new movie, ‘The Bounty,’ and her co-star, Gerard Butler, has flown out of New York with his beloved pug of war, Lolita. Butler and Aniston, who’ve been seen flirting and holding hands between takes, have denied a romance. But sources say Aniston, who moves straight on to promoting ‘Love Happens,’ is fearing that things will cool now that they’ve gone their separate ways.” a post in PageSix was saying at the beginning of September, as we also informed you at the time.
