14 DAY TRIAL // MSN named Angelina Jolie “the yummiest mummy ever” and her stable relationship with partner Brad Pitt has often commanded the praises of many magazine editors, but that’s not to say regular moms would trust her with their kids. As a new poll conducted by ParentDish reveals, mothers would rather Jennifer Aniston babysat their children than Angelina Jolie.
The survey was conducted on the occasion of Mother’s Day, and is now published on the aforementioned AOL parenting website. Over 10,000 mothers answered questions online and ranked celebrities’ parenting skills from what they had read in the media or had been told about them. Strangely enough, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt failed to come out on top, having been robbed the position by Ellen DeGeneres and her partner.
Ellen and Portia de Rossi, who are now happily married and reportedly considering adopting a child of their own, topped the survey, with 31 percent of the votes. In doing so, the two became the most trustworthy celebrity couple – or, at least, the couple with whom mothers would leave their children home alone with. Jennifer Aniston came in second with 22 percent, while Jolie and Pitt managed to gather only 18 percent of the votes. Even more strange is that television personality Oprah Winfrey only nabbed 9 percent of the votes, presumably because she’s perceived as too busy a businesswoman to be able to properly care for a child, it has been said.
While the poll in itself says nothing about Aniston or Jolie’s motherly skills (with plenty of emphasis on “nothing”), it can still be used as a means to understand the way the public perceives the two so-called rivals, several celebrity magazines are pointing out. Women tend to see Aniston as a better mother, because she has that homely air about her, which could easily make one think that she would happily give everything up to stay at home and care for the kids.
Oppositely, Angelina is perceived as more risk-loving and less stable, despite the fact that she has no less than six children with Pitt, while Aniston is not even pregnant.
